Vandalism

March 15th, 2012 at 09:11 pm

We are set to close (selling) on DHs dad's house in two weeks. Today, we caught 5 teenagers at the house. They pretty much suck. The police escorted them to jail.

Thank goodness for insurance. Not sure where this will put us for closing. We have the ins. adjuster coming out to assess the situation, and the realtor's contractor can do the work.

Oh man... Why do people do this?? Where's the fun in destroying the property of strangers?

What brats. I hope they get in trouble for this.

I also hope that you can get it sorted out as easily as possible!

That is absolutely horrible. I hope each has to pay restitution.

Awful! I agree--- hope they have to pay and receive miserable punishment!

I'm glad they were caught. We still don't know who broke into our old house 3 times. They vandalized a little, but that was mostly ripping the security system's alarm out of the wall. Scared them off, otherwise, but still made me mad. I like to see them get caught and I hope they throw the book at them for what they did to that house. Insurance company might go after them if the court doesn't.

Oh man--I think they should charge them and their parents for the cleanup.

Apparently too much unsupervised time on their hands. So sorry you have to deal with that!

Awful, awful, awful (sadly shaking head)

How can parents raise children to have respect and to act in a way they know is wrong?

I don't get it. And I'd probably sue them in small claims court.

That kind of stuff leads me to wonder about the future, seriously. I hope that they have to work their delinquent tails off for a good, long, sweaty, and supremely-uncomfortable time to pay for those repairs. What a bunch of punks. Thank goodness for insurance, indeed.
