Homemade Gatorade Recipe

August 18th, 2009 at 02:14 pm

I thought I'd share this recipe.

~1 pkg Kool-Aid (or store brand version)
~8 Tablespoons sugar
~3/8 teaspoons salt
~1/8 teaspoons salt substitute (example: No-Salt; be sure it contains potassium chloride)
~2 Quarts cold water

Mix everything together and refrigerate.

I think you are going to need a pinch of baking soda in there, too. Sodium bicarbonate. If you will drink large quantities of this, especially if you think you really are battling dehydration, it will be important to get the ratios correct. So I would check on a medically oriented website or book.
