I'm so sad!

July 25th, 2008 at 11:31 am

My best friend is moving from FL to OR next week. I am really, really sad. Our kids are close and she is like my sister. But I knew this was coming as her hubby took a job there to be near family and he's already been gone for a month. She has been working diligently on her home to prepare to sell it (did I mention she's here alone, 6 months pregnant with 4 kids?). She's amazing!

Anyway, she's been such a great example to me of how to be a fabulous mom. I know our friendship was divinely created, as she has helped me change into something better. I am really going to miss her.

Argh...

That is sad! But, these days with the internet, keeping in touch is SO much easier. I've found that out with the kids and their college friends and with family. Not the same as sharing a cup of tea while watching the kids play in the yard. So sorry you are losing your friend to a move. But, do keep in touch with her. My SIL has a set time to get on the internet with relatives and "chat." I do that with the kids. We send pictures and video and chat about the day. Not the same, I know. But, we sure love it.

((Hugs)) I know what it is like to leave my best friend. It is awful. Call her often, especially in the first few days, weeks and months. She will be adjusting to her new home. I'm sure you know the friendship won't end...it will just change.

Yikes! Your friend is a strong woman indeed!

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you guys will continue to keep in touch.

I'm so sorry. I hope you can still keep in touch (blogs are great ways to do that!!) and keep up with each others kids. I'm sure she is valuing your friendship right now too, as I'm sure you have been a great help to her while she has been home alone with her kids.

Sorry to hear that. Don't worry true friendship will withstand the test of time. My best friend and I have lived apart for nearly 15 years now and we're still best friends.

She and I usually talk almost everyday. Thank god for cell phones. And though the 6 hour time difference sucks we still are cool. Definitely like sisters. I known her about 25 years now.
