I'm going to work...

...and I'm torn about it, but we've got to eat!

I've applied to be a high school math teacher. The schools open for this position today are two: one down the road and one on the other side of town. The one down the road is not very good, and the one across town I used to substitute for and am not impressed with, either (honestly, there's going to be discipline problems everywhere). So I think I'll take the one down the road (of course, if they want me. That isn't a guarantee, but the odds are good). I love math and love to teach it, but I wonder what % of time I'll be dealing with discipline.

One *HUGE* sigh..... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'll keep you posted. I'm going to miss my own children during the day Embarrassment(

    Good luck. I just took a job after working at home for 10 years and it was actually easier than I thought it would be. Remember the family will take a cue from you, so try to look at the positives of having a job.

    Our schools need good math teachers, especially ones that enjoy working with kids. Discipline issues - yep, unfortunately that is a given. You may already know this website, but if you don't . . . teachers.net - it is a fantastic resource for teachers.
